Linux Mint+AMD processor=working computer with no backdoor's or need to "upgrade" unless one wants to. THEN if the upgrade is not up to what is wanted it can be erased easily. No popups ever.
2 years ago I was continually having to reload Windows in the death loop. After about 5 times, I finally found UbuntuMate, frightened to load it because of my dependence on Gill Bates, but when I did, I have never had another single issue whatsoever.
Then I would say that's best for you. I started with Ubuntu 10 I believe it was. Went up the numbers till it became bloated. Others saw this as well which spurred the creation of Mint. Now Mint is growing in time to load etc just as Ubuntu did. Its still eon's ahead of Windows.

This study and inside the article reports FDA is considering allowing three time the current amount of atrazine in our water supplies. I don't see how anyone can deny these mother fuckers are trying to kill us in many different ways. As soon as more people understand this, we might have a fighting chance.

Ubuntu is set up to do it all for you. There are others, but I have been using Ubuntu since 2006. it was fairly basic then, but now it has all the setup that it will ask you if you want to run Ubuntu alongside Windows, so you swap back n forth until you get to know linux.
